First Step Friday is a monthly event held the first Friday of every month in Columbus, connecting people actively reentering society with the services they need at that moment. Ohio Means Jobs, Elvis House, and other direct service providers attend, making it a single point of access for resources people would otherwise have to navigate separately. The event is hosted in partnership with CORCC, which serves as a sponsoring organization.
CBCF is a minimum security residential facility for adult male felony offenders in Franklin County, operated as an alternative to incarceration. Residents are sentenced from court and spend four to six months working through programming that addresses substance dependency, employment gaps, family relationships, and cognitive patterns. The facility is ACA accredited and has operated since 1993.
RISE (Reaching Individual Success Everyday) is Franklin County's first mental health specialty docket, operating under the Court of Common Pleas and supervised by Judge Sheryl Munson. It serves moderate to high-risk felony offenders diagnosed with a serious mental illness as a primary factor in their justice involvement, providing treatment, accountability, and community resources across a structured two-year program.
The Hinda Institute has been doing reentry work for nearly forty years. They provide counseling, visitation, legal navigation, housing support, job placement, spiritual guidance, and peer certification to people moving through the criminal justice system and to their families. Their job retention rate for placed clients is 91%. AI Futures delivered its first out-of-state session at Hinda in April 2026.
